The goal isn't simply to ask AI to write a random story. I already have the real-life experiences, characters, emotions and story direction. The challenge is getting AI to transform all of that material into a structured fictional novel while keeping creative control. I start by creating an Author Voice specifically for this fictional series. I want something contemporary, romantic, cinematic, witty and driven by chemistry and dialogue. BookNova analyzes the writing sample and creates a detailed voice profile that can then be used throughout the book. Then I start a new book from scratch and choose romance → contemporary romance as the genre. Instead of letting AI invent everything, I provide my own story concept, characters, setting, time period, tone and style. The story follows Michelle and Nadia and is inspired by a real relationship, while being fictionalized and romanticized for the book. I then build the story bible, develop the characters and add much more detailed character information using ChatGPT. This includes appearance, motivation, inner conflict, relationships, speaking style, backstory, character arcs, traits and mannerisms. Once the foundation is ready, BookNova generates the chapter outline. The first book becomes a 12-chapter story moving across different locations, with the relationship developing through encounters, distance, emotional ambiguity and eventually a bittersweet resolution. Finally, I let BookNova generate the actual chapters using my custom author voice.
